Holiday Ramblings

This Christmas season is flying by so quickly! I can't wait for next week but at the same time, I wish it could be "this week" for about 2 more weeks...not for shopping reasons but just to enjoy the tree and Christmas songs and decorations. I absolutely love having my tree up.

We are almost done with our shopping. This year we got almost everything for the girls online. We could actually be done right now but we will be shopping for the kids right up until Christmas Eve. Every year that we have been married, Brooke and I have went shopping and out to eat on Christmas Eve Night while Abby is at the Johnson's Christmas. Christmas is the only time Brooke likes to shop really, so we have the best time. Unless we are going to the mall. Brooke won't set foot in the mall at Christmas unless there is a particular item that we absolutely cannot get anywhere else. I love holiday shopping at the mall....from the music they play to the decorations....I don't even mind the crowds.

This year we decided to do most of our shopping online, except for a few items we got from Wal-Mart. This was actually more fun than I thought it would be. We are on a tight budget this year, so we really were able to put a lot of thought into what we got the girls and took our time looking at different stores to get the best price. And the best part was seeing UPS or FedEx drive up! It was like Christmas for us opening all the boxes!

A couple of weeks ago we had to make a trip to Hot Springs and had decided while we were there we would go to the mall. Brooke's item that got him in the door: Reagon's basketball shoes. Mine: Ornaments and Mylee's first visit with Santa. We had a few presents that we were going to pick up and a budget that we had set for this.

We get in the door and head to Foot Locker. We stopped at AE and made a purchase. That was the end of my Christmas shopping. I found the personalized ornament display so Brooke left me there (I needed time! haha) and took Mylee to look for shoes. I think I MIGHT have been there 20 minutes and Brooke returns with bags in hand and about $5 left in our shopping money. In the time it took some guy to write on 3 ornaments, Brooke had bought the shoes he came for, bought the other gifts on our list for that day, and was ready to get Mylee's picture and race for the door! I should have known this was coming when he refused to take the stroller in! LOL It was funny and we had a good laugh over it, so everyone was happy anyway. :-)

We have a busy week ahead with Christmas and chickens the day after Christmas, so I better get to work!
